Client: Wylfa Power Station
Location: Wales
Sector: Industry
Elliott Modular has installed two office blocks at the Wylfa nuclear power station in Cemaes Bay, Anglesey. The blocks have replaced temporary units that were being used to house contractors and project teams at the power station, which started generating electricity in 1971 and is British Nuclear Fuels’ (BNFL) largest reactor.
The company chose to stop hiring portable units, opting instead to purchase two blocks, one utilising 24 Elliott Steelplan® modules, the other using 20.
One accommodation block will be used to house contractors and will include offices, a common mess room and locker change facilities.
The second building is for the core site project delivery teams, enabling the creation of a new Project Delivery organisation.
"Staff have better facilities, which fit into a smaller area than previously taken up by single temporary units, at a low final cost to our customer. We have been extremely impressed with the Elliott Group”
ANDREW TAYLOR,
Wylfa's Outage Manager
